As you can see from the chart above, Japan is facing a serious demographic crisis. The birth rate has been declining steadily since the 1970s, while the death rate has been increasing. This has led to a shrinking and aging population, which creates both challenges and opportunities.

Japan has the highest percentage of elderly population among developed countries, with 28.7% of its population aged 65 and over. This creates a significant labor shortage, especially in technology sectors where younger workers are typically more prevalent.

More Japanese companies are making English their official language, which creates opportunities for foreign tech workers. While Japanese language skills are still valuable, the barrier to entry is lower than it used to be for English speakers.
I'm currently learning both web development and Japanese with the goal of working in Japan's tech industry. The combination of technical skills and language abilities should provide a competitive advantage in this market.
